Saint Nicholas Episcopal Church, Newark, Delaware

St. Nicholas Episcopal Church, Newark, Delaware

St. Nicholas Episcopal Church, Newark, Delaware, is a vibrant church with an intimate, reverent style of worship. The Eucharist (Holy Communion) is celebrated Sundays at 10:00 a.m. with nursery care available then. You will find that the congregation is warm, inviting, and inclusive.

Our Christian Education programs provide a foundation for growing in faith. Children are an important part in our life and worship.  Outreach (one of our top priorities) is aimed at the poor, the hungry, and those in need. Our Food Pantry has been in operation for over 25 years. Members take an active role in leading worship. Fellowship (having fun together) is important to our congregation.

We also think it is very important to recognize and share our ups and downs in life. We do this each Sunday when all are invited to share their concerns and celebrations. We call ourselves “The church with the big heart.”

The St. Nicholas Episcopal Church newsletter, The Anchor, is published monthly.

  9. Sawanda Stewart

Hello. My name is Sawanda Stewart. I am homeless and stay in my car. O recently acquired a job. However, not having any cash for gas or food is hard. I came to Delaware for a job position, I gave a so called “friend” all that I had, money wise, only not to have a place to stay. I am a college graduate, capable of getting on my feet. I just need a little help. I am currently staying in the parking lot next to my job in Newark, if it’s possible, to help me acquire a place, or hotel and gas voucher. I would greatly appreciate it, and be able to rise from there. I’ve tried and called everyone. I even stayed at shelter. But lack of gas did not allow me to travel back and fourth to work. Had to stay in area. Please help. My number is 717-378-3533. If not, god bless anyway
